Please join in this special session on Tips and Traps: Tax Strategies for Donors and Charities, presented by regionally and nationally acclaimed tax specialist, Andy Biebl, on Wednesday, June 8th from Noon – 1:00 p.m. at the Springfield Area Community Center (33 South Cass Ave, Springfield). The session is free and lunch will be provided (please just RSVP as indicated below).
Andy will cover:
- Staying bulletproof on tax receipt letters (criteria, the deadline trap, the missing “no goods or services phrase,” cash contributions vs IRA QCD transfers vs Donor-Advised Fund gifts).
- Tax-efficient giving in the standard deduction era (bunching strategy – alternate calendar year giving, pre-loading a Donor-Advised Fund, use of appreciated assets vs cash, and IRA Qualified Charitable Contributions).
- Special Situations (Retiring Farmers and gifts of unsold grain/depreciated machinery: Charitable Remainder Trusts and Appreciated Capital Asset gifts {tax rules and examples such as land gifts, publicly traded stock}).
Presenter Andy Biebl has over 40 years of experience specializing in individual, closely-held business and agricultural taxation. Andy is a long-time instructor, conducting training programs nationally for tax professionals for more than 30 years. Further, Andy is an author and instructor of the popular “Tax Advisors Update” and “Farm Taxation Update.” Andy has conducted over 150 seminars and conferences for the MNCPA and is one of their highest evaluated speakers.
